About Holly

Holly's career in showing dogs
started back around 1995. She trained Julie's retired OTCh dog
Dax for showing in UKC
obedience
and 4-H.
They had a
great time showing, scoring many Highest Scoring Junior Handler in
obedience awards. In June
of 1996 Holly and Dax traveled to Kalamazoo, Michigan to attend the UKC's TOP
GUN International Obedience Competition. Where they got first place in their
class and Highest Scoring Junior Handler. Holly showed Dax to the UKC U-CDX
level. Around this time Holly also started training and showing Dax for the 4-H
Fair. This is where Holly was introduced to showmanship and handling classes.
After a few 4-H sessions we realized that Dax wasn't cut out to do the "show
dog" thing so out came Storm to
help Holly learn how to do Junior Showmanship. After awhile Holly learned that
she really enjoyed doing this type of dog activity and decided to try it for
real. Holly showed Storm in AKC juniors classes a few times but she decided that
she wanted to do this with a "real show dog" so after proving herself, Julie
decided to get Wyndy for Holly.
Holly
received Wyndy in February of 1998 and Holly began training Wyndy for the
juniors ring and the breed ring. Showing Wyndy was a great challenge as she
never carried the hair needed to be a "show dog" but she was a great teacher for
Holly as they showed and trained for a few years. Teaching Holly how to work and
handle dogs in the ring.
Just to keep things interesting
Holly and Julie would swap dogs and train and show them in obedience.
Holly
showed Shine
to his CD and CDX and would later show Wyndy for her CDX title.
Wyndy was bred to Carson in 2001
and would go on to give Holly her first two competitive show dogs Rocco and Elle.
Elle would go on to receive all of her singles and one major but her career was
cut short when she got pyometra and had to be spayed. Elle truly enjoyed showing
with Holly and they were successful and had a great time together. Rocco earned five breed
points but we soon discovered that Rocco didn't enjoy the act of showing so he
was neutered and retired.
In 2003,
we started looking for another girl for Holly to show.
Holly was also graduating from high school at this time and Julie offered Holly
the choice of getting a puppy or if she was interested in some other gift. Holly
readily choose to get a puppy. So along came Bindi Sue. Bindi is being showed in
conformation and getting ready to show obedience.
Holly earned her very first High in Trial with Bindi Sue, April 2006. This
was Bindi's obedience debut and we were very proud of her!
